That was awesome man! Great sounds made by all three of you! Killer acoustic, killer bongo's and awesome cover with River's voice. Love the song. What if, God was one of us? Just a slob like one of us?
Love the song!!! Thanks for this site Rainn, I think it is really (whatever the word is for cool)
I love Rivers Cuomo's voice! I think it's somewhat ironic that RAINN Wilson interviewed RIVERS Cuomo. haha Go earth-y names!
Cool that was a sing-a-long for me :):) Also who grew up on a potato farm with Sri Swami Satchidananda? That was the Swami from Yogaville. Awesome! I'm enjoying this site Rainn Thank you.
You are a great talent. Love your "acting." But the smiles in this video are for real. You put a smile on me.
Rainn is clearly a genius.
(And a shout-out to fellow former Knoxvillian Brian Bell, whose pop taught me geography at the Univ. of Tenn).
Good Grief, am I old or what. I love Rainn Wilson but wouldn't know who or what River Cuomo or Weezer was if he/she or it came up and bit me on the ass.
Nice! Rock out Rainn! I love this song to begin with but those bongos were awesome in the song. Never woulda thought about bongos in that song but i liked it :D
... and now folklife. i can even smell the pseudo-hippies bathing in the fountain. wow. i'm homesick and i haven't gone anywhere.
I really liked the bongos...Who knew? Maybe we are all just a tiny, tiny, tiny piece of God? It is possible....Being raised both Bahai and Catholic, anything is possible..
The last time I heard the original of this song it was on a local radio station after a night shift (I'm a nurse) at about 7:30 in the morning. In a McDonalds car park. I started to have hallucinations at this point. This song scares me now.
@permalost The song at the end of the interview is Only In Dreams off the Blue Album
I can just see the solo bongo album of Rainn Wilson titled appropriately "the Sound of Rainn".
This is great! What's the name of the song at the end of the second video?
Hey, that actually sounded great! The bongo was a very nice addition, I think they should keep it.
i love weezer this is amazing!!!
:) good job on the bongos rainn!!
Rainn's improvised polyrhythmic bonging is topnotch. Mustâve been all the metal he listened to growing up.
soulpancake just made my day!
I was exploring the movie database and somehow ended here.
So glad that happened. Guess someone's going to add "bongos skilled improviser" on your imdb profile.
I just want to say, how many top tier recording artists would invite some strange actor into the studio and invite them to collaborate? He asked if I wanted to play piano, harmonize or play bongos - he was just completely clear on the fact that if I sucked he was going to ask me to get out. It takes a real confidence in oneself with really clear boundaries to collaborate in that way. As minor as it was, it was a great lesson for me as an artist as well.
Wow..that interview answered so many questions for me. He was so wise. I couldn't believe that he answered every question so accurately...amazing, and ONLY on soulpancake.com
That was freakin awesome, dude! He acts, he talks to Oprah, AND he plays the bongos....how much better can life get? Kudos...mega kudos
Rainn, have to admit I didn't know who you were and was a bit worried when you grabbed the bongos... but you sounded great and it was a lot of fun! The Ravi Shankar DVD I told you about is a BBC production called "In Portrait". Thanks for this site, it's really cool, hope we'll play again someday- Joe LoPiccolo
I can't wait to see the interview! I saw the other video on Rivers Cuomo's YouTube channel and just about had a heart attack. It just does not get better than Rivers and Rainn.
I can't wait to see this interview, looks awesome. Niiiiice bongo skills, broski!
love this song! what a great cover! where can we download it? heard Rivers sing it on XM radio this saturday @ AltNation. This is even better with Rainn on the bobgos.
Looking forward to the interview! And you sounded great on the bongos!
You sounded great Rainn. How about filmingThe Office by day & playing on the bongos with Weezer by night?
Rainn. Você é um grande artista! Um homem de atitude. Nós aqui no Brasil te adoramos. Assistimos "The Office" e lemos "SoulPancake". E será um prazer atuar ao seu lado um dia. Enfim... Obrigado por existir. Um grande abraço.

Nice beats Rainn! Your acting on television is superb, but it's your genuine enthusiasm and passion for music that helps make this video quite special.
