Isn't better to love, then to condemn?

This collective is mainly directed to those of religions who condemn homosexuality. But before I get any further, let me state that this is not being posted with the intention of advocating hate mongering and negativity. So if that is what you have to bring to the table, please kindly escort yourself to next collective. I would prefer repsonses of a rational nature, with all emotion set aside. That being said...let me continue. I am a straight, Christian woman and am fully aware of my religion's stance on homosexuality. From what I have been taught from years of attending Christian school, homosexuality is a sin and an abomination in the eyes of God. However...from what I have also been taught, is that no sin, with the exception of blaspheme, is greater than any other. We are all sinners. So then why do some Christians feel like they have the right to judge others lives and decisions? According to our own teachings, their "sin" of homosexuality is no greater or lesser than other sin. According to Matthew 22:37-40 , "Jesus said unto him, thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets." If people are so religious or holy, then why do they have such hate in their hearts for others, neglecting the second most important of God's laws? Is it a greater sin to be a homosexual, than to have such hatred and prejudice for your neighbor, violating the laws that Jesus so clearly lays out for us? I realize that this isn't terribly cohesive, but I have so many thoughts running through my mind right now, that it's hard to organize them. Basically here it is. I am not saying that I am for or against homosexuality. However, what I am for is love, kindness, and respect for my neighbors. So here we are. Do you think that it is better to condemn homosexuality, as it is an abomination in the eyes of God, or to love homosexuals, as they are people who love and feel just like anyone else? Again, rational responses only please. No hate mongering.

Like I said, what if you love to condemn?

what i find of ultimate importance in this sort of discussion is that GOD [YHWH] himself never, never once, condemns any man or woman, any soul at all, to death. indeed, according to the jewish and christian scriptures, we stand condemned because we are born into a state of separation (sin) and we are instantly at enmity with GOD.

it is oh so sad to see people hating and cursing others, and it is truly wrong and agitating to see them do it in the name of GOD, YHWH.
