What is your Myers/Briggs personality type? My type happens to be INFP- Introverted iNtuitive Feeling Perceiving. Do you think that certain personality types are more drawn to soul pancake than others? A quick breakdown for people unfamiliar with this: There are sixteen separate personality types in the Meyer/Briggs index. You can determine what type you are by answering questions about how introverted or extroverted you are, how you perceive or take information, how you prefer to make decisions, and how you orient yourself in the world. Most people strongly identify with one of the sixteen types.

I've taken the test at work several times, I'm usually INTP or INFP. A good reminder that I tend to do things from a particular comfort zone and that sometimes I have to step out of that box to get different results.

@muswellhillbilly & @sharp11 Thanks for the links.

I had my husband take the same personality test that I did and then checked the results to the more indepth description. Not only was it incredibly accurate it also said my huband and I are an ideal match for each other... My nerdy scientific heart is experiencing a warm fuzzy fluttering sensation. I also checked the demographics page. Aprox 11% of people share my husband's personality type, while only aprox 3% share mine... scientifically speaking he really is lucky to have found me! :)

Thanks again for the links, very groovy.

ENTP
From the description:
"ENTPs are frequently described as clever, cerebrally and verbally quick, enthusiastic, outgoing, innovative, flexible, loyal and resourceful. ENTPs are motivated by a desire to understand and improve the world they live in. They are usually accurate in sizing up a situation. They may have a perverse sense of humor and sometimes play devil's advocate, which can create misunderstandings with friends, coworkers, and family. ENTPs are ingenious and adept at directing relationships between means and ends. ENTPs "think outside the box," devising fresh, unexpected solutions to difficult problems. However, they are less interested in generating and following through with detailed plans than in generating ideas and possibilities. When ENTPs are used correctly on a team, they offer deep understanding and a high degree of flexibility and problem solving ability. The ENTP regards a comment like "it can't be done" as a personal challenge, and, if properly motivated, will spare no expense to discover a solution."
I donno. Seems plausible, at least. Tho, honestly, I always feel personality tests are, no matter how widely accepted and statistically valid they may be, a little 'Cosmo-ish.' Ah well. Too bad y'all can't drop by this afternoon so we can do our nails and talk *all* about the latest SP gossip, crushes, and whatnot... { ;
Stats about ENTPs (for other geeky folks):
~3% of total population
~3x more males than females
And all these other ENTPs are cool... so I'm cool, too... right???
-John Adams
-Barak Obama
-George Carlin
-Julia Child(!!!!)
-Paula Poundstone (a regular panellist on 'Wait, Wait, Don't Tell Me- The NPR News Quiz'... I <3 THAT SHOW!!! Tho, an ENTP would like such nonsense).

Dear friend,

The myers/Briggs projective test is one of many that I administer to clients for evaluation. Many people can project whatever personality they want if they understand the questions well enough. The results of the grading of the test also may change from time to time.

I was at a training many years ago and the trainers used the M/B as an ice breaker for people to get to know each other through. I took the test and projected a certain personality(this technique is called altercasting - for intervention purposes projecting a personality type that forces the subject to respond in less common ways) e.g. Jesus with the money changers; good cop - bad cop; Artist sometimes, lying sometimes and so on.

What I found interesting about the training was a trainer took it upon themself to assign certain color dots to represent each personality there by projecting their own judgement on the personality types themselves. All the types that involved judgement(J) were assigned a very dark brown, purple colored dot.

During the exercise I asked who assigned the colors and that person got very upset and went into a defensive mode especially when I informed them that I projected a personality type contrary to how I am generally speaking. In other words I informed them that I lied when taking the test.

I do administer other projective tests that are much harder for my subjects to "lie" on. I learned a long time ago not to rely to much on just one test. As far as I am concerned most prjective tests are a good way for us all to learn a little bit about ourselves and to relate to others in a more meaningful way.

Serious and quiet, interested in security and peaceful living. Extremely thorough, responsible, and dependable. Well-developed powers of concentration. Usually interested in supporting and promoting traditions and establishments. Well-organized and hard working, they work steadily towards identified goals. They can usually accomplish any task once they have set their mind to it.

SO completely true about me... I've taken the Myers/Briggs several times and my result is quite consistent. The only thing that really changes for me is the I/E scores. I love things like these... they help to organize who you really are into coherent sentences. :o)
