Have you ever felt like your life is a dream and none of this real?

Selenite

Yup. I once told my mom about it, actually more like asked. I had described a mental image that I had stored in my head, I thought it was a memory but she said no, but I feel as if it's real and did happened, I'm not sure if it was a dream but I just can't pass it off as that.

It's more accurate to say that I sometimes feel that my awareness level understands only a fraction of what's really going on here. There's a kind of dream-like quality associated with that feeling. As a result, I find myself often going back to the root question, what's really going on here?

I rather feel like my life is perpetually on that plane of 'just waking up,' one foot still in dream land, but the other stepping back into consciousness... neither fully awake nor asleep.

When i was very young, say around the time i was five through nine, my life felt as though it had already happened. It felt like the "now" i was living was merely me re-telling it from "the beyond" as though to explain my actions or something.

At times.

But then the respite, trauma, or drug affecting me wear off and I once again realize that right now is the only point in time I can live at and is the only thing I truly have any measure of control over . . . so I'd better take is as real and do something meaningful with it lest the opportunity be lost forever.

The other day I was watching the kids on the playground (I'm a teacher) and I looked up at an amazing sky and thought to myself.....what if I could just push off and fly. And for a second I got the same rocket booster feeling in my solar plexus (like I do when I'm dreaming and I fly) and thought I just have to try. Then one of my kids fell off the swing and I came back down to earth.
The truth is.....I think this life is some sort of dream....not sure if it is a collective dream or just one of my own. But I am sure the truth to getting and doing all the things I've ever wanted to is by simply realizing that it is a dream and I can control every second of it if I just pay attention.

if you do -(and I guess many of us do some of the time) how do you define "real"

i cant say that i honestly think that my life is a dream on a daily basis, but every now and then i have a surreal experience (usually some form of de ja vu) and i think to myself, "this could all be a dream". definitely.

Human consciousness must be dealt with in terms of non-realism. Nuff sed.

Straight up, like, every single moment. I can't wait to find out, like, ultimately wake up. If that is the case, I mean. Haha
