2012....is the world really ending?

Why is that everyone is now obsessed with 2012, just like the were Y2K? Also, the Mayan calender doesn't show the end of the world, they just didn't continue making it. Am I missing something?

@chemical_echo You didn't just ask that did you? The reason we say the KNOWN UNIVERSE is because it's the portion we KNOW about. Therefore the only thing we can base calculations on. Just because you don't understand the math behind it doesn't mean the math doesn't exist. The center of the known universe is calcuable, because we take the farthest outreach's of the KNOWN UNIVERSE(not to be confused with the universe as a whole) and we apply a geometric mean to these distances. From this calculation we can tell the approximate center of the KNOWN UNIVERSE.

I don't know if it's going to end or not, but here's some questions I've been thinking about regarding this...

Edgar Casey predicted the world would end on the very same day - he wasn't an educated man and probably never even knew where the Mayans were from

What if the person writing all this stuff down just ran out of room and had to get another rock? There could be another rock sitting around with a whole new chapter.

Did anyone bother to flip over this Mayan calendar rock? Maybe there's more on the back.

If the Mayans were so smart, why didn't they predict thier own demise? BTW, where did they go anyways? No one really knows what happened. They may have dispersed throughout South and Central America, fell victim to disease or have been beamed up by aliens (that last one is an actual theory I heard on PBS last night).

@applegrass Love that song! Did you ever notice that all the names in that song have the initials "L.B"? That doesn't mean anything......OR DOES IT!?

@kensho1111 Im not sure if I'm thrilled about that or not. reminds me of the commercial where none of the kids want to try the cereal so they get Mikey. In this case no one wants to be the first for what ever the hell happens, so lets get Aguarius Bonster to do it. Thanks you guys, makes me feel so wanted. :-L I'll wave whlie day-tripping over jupitor and yell howdy on my slide thru the milky way.

@SeekerOfPeace ...."I think the year 2012 could possibly be the start of a new spiritual awakening.. It feels like we're moving in that direction today.. I can feel it in myself and many, many other people are feeling the same thing.. I don't believe the world will end"...

Yes, there a great many who feel this is what's already happening. There won't be any "event" happening on December 21, 2012. Changes this big involving mankind don't just happen overnight, like flipping a switch, and presto, it's all different now. It began quite a few years ago, and it'll continue long after 12/21/12 has come and gone.

@SeekerOfPeace ...." I just wish I had access to some of these wonderful regression therapist!"....

I know Brian Weiss has information on how to locate a competent and experienced regressionist on his website. It is:

brianweiss.com

Google Michael Newton Ph.D. and Brian L. Weiss Ph.D. for some of the best books on the subject today. Also check YouTube. They both have a number of good videos, and they (of course) talk about the material in these books.

Here's an great article for those curious about all of this:

@kensho1111 You said it well! Why is it that everyone wants to believe the worse? Crazy. And why do people put so much faith in the Bible when it's so full of horrible stories.. If we are to believe the Bible, God is a mean and vengeful God who gave us free will just to see if we'd be naughty enough to use it!

A few months ago you recommended a book called "Bringing Your Soul to the Light" by Linda Backmond.
Just wanted to say thanks.. It's a great book.. I just wish I had access to some of these wonderful regression therapist!
