Memo to Ikea: You may be spatially conscious, but your stamina sucks. We'll take a hand-crafted log chair like this one any day.
1. Move over, eHarmony. I want a real date, not a flirtatious two-month text-athon.
2. Throw out the elliptical, treadmill, and rower. What ever happened to putting Adidas to asphault or kayaking on an actual river?
3. I've forgotten where my mailbox is. Don't send me an e-mail. Write a damn letter.

1. Communicating. I don't know many people who can't go ten minutes without checking on someone to see where their at or what their doing
2. Reading a book on actual paper than a Kindle screen
3. Listening to music on vinyl, it just sounds so much better compared to mp3's
1. clothes. these days everybody is dressed so similar and you can hardly find a person with his or her unique style. oh, the times when people were dressed in colourful dresses...
2. music and music events. where's that rock'n'roll as it used to be?!
3. writing with a pen on a piece of paper.
1. Buying fresh groceries every day.
2. Buying more things at local stores.
3. Having more structured "family dinners".
1. Dating Etiquette - I'd like you to open the door for me, take my coat, etc. Don't be afraid to be chivalrous!
2. Disciplining teenagers - So many parents accept disrespect from their teenagers and are afraid their kids won't "like" them if they discipline them. Your kids are teenagers; they're not supposed to like you! Take away their damn phone or ground them every once in awhile.
3. Patriotism - Country is about so much more than government. Be proud of your country's heritage, values, and citizens - and don't apologize for it!
1) Employment: I long for the days when you could get a job and stay at it. My grandpa worked at the same place for 35 years and then retired. Today everything seems to be on a contract basis - and companies are constantly re-organizing, so even if you DO have a good job, its likely to be in a department that will no longer exist in a year or so.
2) Manners: I'm a big hater of cell phones, but it isn't the phones that bother me - it is the behavior of the people who use them, and this seems to be indicative of a general disinterest in civility. Politeness seems to have become obsolete. I think I'm the only person in Seattle who is willing to give up her bus seat when an elderly person gets on. I've actually gotten dirty looks from other passengers because of it.
3) Sexuality. I don't have a problem with anybody's (consensual) sex life. I just wish they would keep it in their bedrooms. Holding hands with your boy/girlfriend, giving them a kiss or a hug, perfectly fine with me. I just don't want to be invited into the details of your particular sex life. If you are into S&M, don't come to visit me with your spouse on a leash. I don't want to see people rubbing their pelvises together until their ridiculously tight pants practically catch fire. I guess I'm old fashioned because I recognize a difference between public displays of affection - and unsolicited free sex-shows. If I want a sex show, I'll damned well solicit it!
1. Weapons. Get rid of guns, missles, bombs, tanks, all that crap. Let's do this thing with swords so you can actually defend yourself not just take one in the back of the head from 200 yards away.
2. Values. Oh, great, grand wonderful, you can make your own choices and do what you want, well, look where that gets you, you're an idiot (not you, him/her).
3. Basketball Shoes. Converse=Strong Feet
1. Toys. Kid's toys today have become much to intricate and advanced. I liked when kids were amused with two sticks tied together, or plain old just playing in the dirt. Toys today don't give kids much room to actually use their imagination and create. Which I think is important to do as a kid.
2. Video Games. They've gotten much too graphic, violent, and life-consuming. I mean seriously people, WiiFit? Is it so hard to just go out and get exercise that we have to have a video game to do it?
3. Sex. I can understand having sexual freedom, but it's become too free. There's too much skin and too much skank these days.
List 3 things you wish the world could go back to doing the ‘old-fashioned’ way.
1. Kissing in trees
2. Washing the dishes
3. Train hitching
